Last Entry: New Rules Could Slash Care for Thousands With HIV (2012-01-26 18:12:39)
Right now it's not looking good for people with HIV. People could have strict limitations on the kinds of drugs available to them. Many types of supportive services could get cut. Access to specialists could also be restricted. The worst part is that much of what we thought the Federal government would mandate, is now getting left to the states to decide. God help those living in places like Mississippi or South Carolina.

Last Entry: AIDS Activism Wows Sundance (2012-01-25 22:12:09)
I got the chance to see AIDS activism wow a crowd at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, during the premiere of HOW TO SURVIVE A PLAGUE on Sunday. Seeing it on a big screen kinda blew my mind, and judging by audience response, I wasn't alone.

If you experience discrimination, tell someone. Tell your friends, your family, and most importantly, the EEOC or your local state's Human Relation's Commission.

Last Entry: Deceived and Misled, HIV Positive People Can Only Speculate About Their Infection (2012-01-25 14:06:34)
By assuming that HIV is always sexually transmitted we end up implementing, at best, prevention strategies that may have no influence on non-sexual transmission, whatever influence they have on sexual transmission. At worst, we are just standing by while people become infected and go on to infect others.
