Today, Barack Hussein Obama is officially president of the United States. Yesterday, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would have been 80 years old.
Many parallels have been drawn between the two men. However, this clip from a 1964 BBC interview further draws them together. In the interview, Dr. King predicts "in less than 40 years" there would be a black U.S. president.

I have to say I see no parallels between the two men. MLK was pure genius,a speaker without peer. There were no teleprompters then or speechwriters. He inspired people of all races. He started a revolution. Anyone who didnt get goosebumps when he spoke wasnt alive. I often teared up when he spoke and his death was just as tragic as JFKs to me. This guy was gonna free us all. The other person who I thought played just as important a role as MLK was Ali. Ali was in your face,and a true revolutionary. Those two men did more for the national consciousness than any politician in my life time.
Mr.Obama is a politician. He promised change but has hired many of the hacks from the last Dem administration as well as backed off many of his more leftist positions. His choice for Sec of Treasury is very disturbing,not only because he is a tax cheat but his job the past few years was to oversee Citibank. That went well.
Our only hope is most of what he promised in campaign was just typical political posturing.
Maybe I am missing something,but I just don't see much in this guy. Maybe he has some good advisors? None of them have ever created a real job or not many have had real jobs outside of government. very scary
