Yes, I was approved for my loan today so immediately called the car dealer and the handicap conversion company to say that I am taking the van and to order the parts needed to do the conversion like the hand controls and a special driver’s seat that can turn so I can easily go to or from it from my Jazzy (motorized wheelchair). It will have remote-controlled ramps and side door as well as a “kneeling” feature which makes the incline of the ramp even less steep.
I will be posting actual pictures of mine because I will have the gold mist with the light tan cloth seats. I will have a CD player which I love as well as 3 years of On Star.
I am so thrilled to have attained another of my major goals, the first, being getting my driver’s license back (which I did 5/31).
No one can ever understand how truly amazing this is for me because back in February 2000 – I should have died from the HIV/AIDS/PML, but I surprised many. And, when I stabilized and started to recover that summer of 2000, the “experts” were quick to tell me the many things I would never do again – driving was on the list.
Faked them out, didn’t I?
My advice – don’t listen to anybody that tells you, you can’t, because if you are willing to try – you’ll achieve it.
Me, I am just so damned happy to be free again! The HIV/ AIDS/ PML is not going to win this time.
Oh, and by the way, my family and friends are estatic!

Ron...congratulations. Boy, at the rate you're going, you'll be whizzing by those goals of yours at 70mph.
You say you have on-star? That's good. Because I'm afraid once you get behind the wheel, it will be a long time before we ever hear from you and that the only way we can keep track of you is through on-star. Make sure you give us the password.
