Subscribe to this blog's feedI haven't written about politics in a bit, but I had lunch with my parents this weekend and the topic came up.
See, I like Obama. And my parents were/are big "HillCats", as Mom says. Or "HillRaisers", as she screams. They love 'em some Clintons, and I can respect that. What kind of stinks is that they really are having a hard time warming up to Obama, even though they are lifelong Democrats.
And really, they aren't alone. To many people, the "It takes a Clinton to clean up after a Bush" slogan really struck a chord. My problem with it is that I really didn't want to hear, "It takes a Bush to clean up after a Clinton" in eight years. And also believe that, in America, there's gotta more than two families capable of running the entire friggin' world.
Now, I'm not adding the Deckers to that mix. We can barely run a family reunion.
I missed the Obama/McCain chat with Rick Warren, who promised that he would ask both candidates the same questions. Obama lost a coin toss that wasn't televised or recorded, so he had to go first. Can you imagine a football game where the viewer didn't see the coin toss?
Anyway, McCain was supposed to be in a "Cone of Silence", as not to get an unfair advantage. Obama's camp agreed, unaware of the fact that the "Cone of Silence" would be McCain's motorcade. I guess he was running late.

Naturally, when McCain knocked every question out of the ballpark, eyebrows were raised. Now I'm not suggesting a politician would cheat. I just think that you'd want to avoid that kind of speculation and arrive at such an important event on time.
And who knows what they were watching on the ride over? My guess is that McCain's camp was glued to Olympic badminton just like the rest of us. Either way, if McCain does pull out this election by convincing folks like my parents to vote for him, let's hope he doesn't belatedly take Rick Warren up on that Cone of Silence offer when it comes to the topic of HIV/AIDS in America.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff? Amazing. Look,you guys have to face facts,the media sold you a bonehead,an empty suit, the Ted Knight of politics. They thought Hillary would run him over,but the media still doesnt understand most decent people are sick of the Clintons. Now the media and Dems are in a panic. It is obvious their choice for president is a moron, he makes W look smart. Tire inflation will replace all mid east oil? This guy is beyond dumb.
In reality,if you are an honest person,they were very easy questions,but if you spin and lie as you try to please everyone as Obama does, a guy who tells so many lies he cant remember the last one,any of these were tough for him.
How about when he said his toughest decision was to vote against Iraq war? Yeah,that would be tough since he wasnt in the Senate then,he was till back in Chicago doing sleaze real estate deals with Ton Rezco.
Watch for the Clintons to destroy this guy in the next two weeks. They will go back to their racist tactics of the primaries and they will be releasing all kinds of crap about Obama. Bet on it. Just today there are rumors all over blogosphere that Obama has lied again about his being a muslim when he was very young. This has the Clintons written all over it. Who cares what religion he is? By the time he speaks at convention, Hillary will be the candidate and the Dem party will implode.
Funny huh? W destroyed the Republican party and the media destroys their beloved Dem party because once again they did not properly vet a Dem candidate.
As voters we now have a choice between McCain a moderate democrat,in my opinion, and two incompetent socialists with little experience at anything. Either way you libs win.
You're just mad because I didn't give Michael Phelps the Athlete of the Week Award. You guys are all the same, nothing but "Phelps! Phelps! Phelps!".
I guess everyone else should just save their athletic prowess for backyard barbeques?

How about the new story today on Obamas lost bro? Dude is living in a gutter in Africa on a dollar a month. This story is the Clintons handiwork. They already have the next one in the pipe. It will be about Obamas relationship with Ayers, the Chitown commie who lives up the street from Obama. Gotta watch where you buy a home,especially when you buy it in a deal from Rezco. Ayers is a real left wing wacko,believes we should abolish prisons and used to be with that pussy group the WEatherman. Give me the Peoples Liberation Army,now there were some real radicals. Obama wasnt even alive.
When Willy and HIlly are done with this guy he will be lucky to be a VP choice. Dont get me wrong I think they are doing the country a service, Obama is total stone cold moron,and the media has not vetted him,cause,well, he is their guy. He is the Ted Baxter of politics. He is a product of the most corrupt political system in the world this side of DC.
He gave appeasers a bad name last week when he scolded the Russians,saying their actions were not in the Olympic spirt. Neville Chamberlain would be proud of this incompetent fool.
