Recommended by Giovanni Vitacolonna (Circulation Supervisor)
orphan_bracelet.jpgOrphan Bracelet, $15
South African women living with HIV/AIDS handcraft these stylish bracelets using (lead free) copper, brass and aluminum wire. All proceeds go toward helping mothers and children in South Africa whose lives have been severely impacted by HIV/AIDS.

Recommended by Trenton Straube (Senior Editor)
ineza_tote.jpgIneza tote bag,

This gift is in the bag...actually, it is the bag! The Ineza Women's Cooperative in Rwanda creates each colorful tote, and the proceeds from these one-of-a-kind bags help Keep a Child Alive provide medical care to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS, further empowering them with financial independence.

Recommended by Ian Anderson (President)

Cover your iPad 2 with style and substance. This thin, durable cover magnetically aligns for a perfect fit--and a portion of the profits from each (PRODUCT) RED purchase will go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.

A portion of the profits will go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.

Who wouldn't love this under his or her tree? This autographed 15-month calendar features fabulous photographs of AIDS activist/hottie Jack Mackenroth! Recommended by Jennifer Morton (Managing Editor)
votive_elton.jpgSir Elton John's Holiday 6-Pack Votive Set, $54
It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas! Specifically, like a blend of evergreen and balsam fir needles combined with rich woods and a sparkling citrus accord. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of Sir Elton John's holiday candles will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Recommended by Lauren Tuck (Editorial Assistant)
fisher_bracelet.jpgAsisi Red Ribbon Bracelet, $69
This beautiful red ribbon bracelet was designed by AIDS activist Mary Fisher in honor of World AIDS Day as part of her Abataka Collection. Through the Abataka beading program, Fisher has taught women in Rwanda and Zambia to hand-bead bracelets, which they sell to support themselves and their families.

Well, at least ONE of these gifts will go towards the cure. I'm buying the calendar. It's sad that one individual is doing more to raise funds and awareness about the fact that the Cure comes 1st! ... But RED is a great PR tool for companies and people who truly don't really give a shit enough to know that. But at the end of the day Big Pharma loves that RED money. If we're going to fork over money to charity, it should go towards the cure and the people in THIS country that will die because there's no money for the meds.

Thanks, but I've already got the gift that gives on giving....hiv!
How about a gift that takes this gift back?...lol!
