It is a sad thing you have to die with this disease to get attention and action on it. Even then you have to have someone still alive to print our stories of a terrible life we live with this horrible disease.
I remember having the biggest crush on Pedro. I cried like a baby the day he left us and the days and weeks that followed. Who knew that years later, I would be diagnosed as HIV+ after donating blood while serving in the military. Pedro helped pave the way for those of us living with HIV/AIDS and we all owe him a debt of gratitude for having the courage to show the world that we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. It is truly a travesty that he could not benefit from modern day drugs that help supress this disease. He is gone, but he'll never be forgotten. I love and miss you Pedro Zamora

No conocí a Pedro Zamora, ni sabía que existía una película acerca de su vida. Hace unas semanas leí parte de un escrito de él y me gustó e impactó tanto que lo compartí con otros amigos por facebook, pensando que Pedro Zamora estaba vivo. Nadie me comentó nada, pero hoy confirmo que personas como él nunca mueren, pues dejan huellas, que con su mensanje, inspiran a la humanidad para toda la vida.

Pedro para mi es un santo...aprendi tanto de el...todavia lloro que fallecio a tan temprana edad...yo sin embargo cumpli 54 anos de edad, a los 27 sali positivo...la mitad de mi vida con el virus...todavia fuerte. El jamas sera olvidado.

Hello! Thanks for the personal story of Pedro Zamora~.and both recognizing & remembering him. I had forgotten about him, till I see written Articles here & there. But he always made a profound impact on me even back then. I'm crying as I write this. Because I wondered I would be in his shoes too in the future. And I am,I tested positive in August 2009, on my Birthday. And now I feel ashame,alone,& abandoned; as a 40-Something openly Gay African/French-Creole Caribbean.
